Aurangabad, June 2:

About 6250 saplings will be planted on 10 hectare of land on Gogababa Hill and its premises in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University area on World Environment Day.

About 6,250 native species will be planted by the district administration. This will make the area an oxygen hub. Meanwhile, district collector Sunil Chavan on Wednesday said that he is planning to make this part 'Zakkas Plateau' by planting various flowering plants in the hilly area on the lines of Kaas Plateau in Satara district. He also appealed to the citizens to participate in the tree planting program on June 5 by following all the rules and regulations. It is the intention of the administration to make Gogababa hill area green as per the suggestion of the government. Under the guidance of the guardian minister, this initiative will be implemented under the district annual plan under the department of social forestry for the purpose of replanting in places with afforestation conservation status. Indigenous species have been given importance in the plantation drive. These plants will be conserved by the government for three years and wire fencing will be done for the protection of the trees. Chavan also said that a team of Zilla Parishad would visit Kaas Plateau and bring attractive flowering plants and seeds of various species.
