Aurangabad, April 28:

The health teams of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today have detected 73 persons as Covid-19 positives during the special testing drives conducted at separate places in the city.

45 Covid-19 patients detected at six PoEs

The AMC has tested visitors entering the city limits through six points of the entrance (PoE) on Wednesday. The health teams tested 148 persons and found 16 infected patients at Chikalthana PoE; tested 192 and detected nine at Harsul T Point PoE, tested 300 and found nine Covid-19 positives at Kanchanwadi PoE, tested 260 and detected eight at Octroi Naka PoE, tested 123 and detected one at Daulatabad T-Point PoE, and two were detected by testing 141 at Jhalta Phata PoE.

22 passengers detected as Covid-19 patients

A total of 15 passengers arriving by train and seven by air, in the city on Tuesday, have been reported as Covid-19 positives today. As reported earlier, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) health teams had conducted RT-PCR tests on 105 passengers arriving at the railway station by trains and 22 passengers arriving at Chikalthana airport by various planes on April 27. The AMC received the RT-PCR reports of these passengers today. Meanwhile, the AMC health teams have conducted RT-PCR tests of 80 train passengers arriving at the railway station, and tests on air passengers were not conducted as the air service was not in operation today. The administration will receive their reports by tomorrow.

Six Covid-19 spreaders detected on roads

The 12 mobile teams (comprising AMC health and police personnel) have conducted antigen tests of 108 persons moving on the roads, in the jurisdiction of 15 police stations, and detected six Covid-19 patients on Wednesday. The testing is done in two shifts (from 9 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 1 am) and there are six teams in each shift.
