Aurangabad, April 28:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) additional commissioner B B Nemane today informed that the civic administration has served show-cause notices to five personnel of drugs store in connection with the missing of one box containing 48 Remdesivir injections. If the replies are unsatisfactory and found guilty then the AMC would not hesitate in taking strict action against them, hinted Nemane, at the press conference organised today afternoon.

It is learnt that the AMC, through its main drugs store, supplied 26 boxes of Remdesivir injections to Meltron CCC on April 24. Each box contains 48 injections. However, we were brought to notice there were no Remdesivir injections in one box. Hence, on the orders of the AMC administrator, the notices had been served to the head of the drugs store Dr Balu Rathodkar, B D Ragade, Pranali Kolhe, Deepali Sane (pharmacist) and Anant Devgirikar.

Meltron CCC to get more Remdesivir injections

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said, the AMC has demanded 6,000 Remdesivir injections and hopes to receive them in 3-4 days. It will be used for patients at Meltron Covid Care Centre.

No guidelines about the new drive from May 1

Dr Padalkar said, " We had received 25,000 dosages of Covishield from the government three days ago. However, this stock has been finished today. As a result, we will be giving vaccine through all the vaccination centres after receiving the adequate quantity of vaccine only."

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive for citizens of the age group 18 to 45 years is beginning from May 1. Hence the registration of names should be made through Cowin App. Meanwhile, there are no clear guidelines from the government about the implementation of this drive, therefore, this vaccine would probably be available only in private hospitals to them. Hence the citizens of this age group should not make a rush at the AMC's vaccination centres. We will update them on receiving fresh guidelines in this regard, explained Dr Padalkar.
