Aurangabad, July 8:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) city engineer S D Panzade said that the civic administration has submitted a fresh proposal demanding for 2.5 acres of land to the district collector. The land is needed to establish 150 metric tones (MT) garbage processing plant at Harsul.

Panzade underlined the demanded land, which is situated near the existing site of the processing plant falls under Category II. Hence it will be acquired through the district collector office.

It may be noted that the AMC has decided to set up garbage processing plants of 150 MT capacity each at Chikalthana, Padegaon, and Harsul after 2016. The controversy over ownership of land at Harsul prevented the AMC from establishing the plant. Henceforth the AMC initiated the demand for 2.5 acres of land to the district collector. The AMC has submitted the proposal for a second time, said Panzade.
