Aurangabad, March 6:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is presently administering Covid-19 vaccines to around 1,500 citizens, including elderly persons, daily. However, the civic health administration is worrying over the operations of its vaccination centres, if the lockdown is implemented in the city.

The AMC is giving the vaccine to the elderly citizens ageing above 60 years and the citizens of age 45-59 years and suffering from co-morbidity since March 1. Till to date, the vaccine had been given to 30,000 citizens, including 5,000 senior citizens. The health officials hope that if the relaxation is given, it would be of great help to the citizens (and elders) to take the vaccine during the lockdown.

The municipal officer of health (MoH), Dr Neeta Padalkar, said, " The AMC had established 12 vaccination centres in the city and two more new centres - DKMM College and Foster College - will start functioning from Monday."

Vaccination in private hospitals from Monday

The AMC is also arranging the vaccination facility in the eight private hospitals of the city from Monday. They include Dhoot Hospital, Hegdewar Hospital, MGM, Kamalnayan Bajaj, Ciigma, Medicore, Alpine and MIT hospitals, said the health official.
