Aurangabad, July 6:

The government supplied a stock of 26,000 vaccines to the district on Monday night. Of which, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) got a share of 10,000 doses.

As a result, the civic administration geared up to administer vaccines to the citizens through 39 centres. Each centre gave the second dose to 100 persons and the first dose to 50 persons. However, there was a huge rush of aspirants to take the first dose. As a result, there was chaos at few centres. The citizens expressed their displeasure over the shortage of vaccines in the city.

It is observed that the citizens rushed to take the first dose or second dose of vaccine to protect themselves from the Delta Plus variant. There were heated arguments between the visitors at the vaccination centres in Harsul, Jaibhavaninagar and Shivajinagar. However, the timely intervention of the health staff on duty helped to pacify them. It may be noted that many centres are issuing tokens to the aspirants to avoid a rush at the centre. Hence the citizens are rushing at the centres to obtain the tokens from 7 am.

Stock exhausted in one day!

The AMC health section claimed that the stock of vaccines received to it on Monday night got finished in one day, at many centres, today. If there is any vaccine in the stock of few centres and then it would be given on Wednesday.
