As per the order of the High Court, a total of 13 Anganwadis will be started in all seven wards of the Aurangabad cantonment area. The approval was given in a meeting of the cantonment board here recently.

The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court had on March 5, 2020 directed the Women and Child Welfare Department to start Anganwadis in the cantonment area following a public interest litigation. Accordingly, the department officials had surveyed and proposed to the cantonment board to start 13 Anganwadis. Anganwadis will be started in ward no 1 in the cantonment staff quarters at Christnagar, Christchurch High School and Gawalipura. At Ajantha Bhavan in Gawalipura in ward no 2. In the playgroup hall in Tofkhana and in the closed public toilet in ward no 3. Public hall in old cantonment office in ward no 4. The Anganwadis in ward no 5 will be located in rented rooms in Patel Chowk, Pensionpura and Laxmi Colony. Imdad School at ward no 6 Gaddigudam and at Zilla Parishad Primary School at Karnapura and in a rented room at Banewadi in ward no 7.
