Aurangabad, Oct 21:

Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray is more interested in politics than providing relief to the farmers, criticized opposition leader, Devendra Phadnavis here on Wednesday.

Briefing the press, he said, if the chief minister demand for funds, prime minister Narendra Modi will not deny it. There is no discrimination at the centre, still no review of the losses due to heavy rains has been taken yet. The proposal to be submitted to the prime minister is not ready yet, he said.

There is a grave need to help the farmers in this difficult situation. The farmer is in plight but he is not getting any help. The state government has the rights to change the provision of Natural Disaster Response Funds (NDRF). Earlier, the governor had assisted the farmers with Rs 8,500 instead Rs 6,500.

Chief minister distributed cheques of Rs 3,500 to the farmers, which is like making fun of the farmers. Action should be taken against the officers giving such advices, Phadnavis demanded.

The farmers complained that no one had visited to them for making Panchanamas of the losses. Seeds will be distributed through lottery system like the lottery system of MHADA houses, which is not right. Every farmer should get the seeds, he said.

MP, Dr Bhagwat Karad, union minister Raosaheb Danve, MLAs Haribhau Bagade, Sambhaji Patil Nilengekar, Atul Save, Prashant Bamb, former minister Pankaja Mundhe, Shirish Boralkar, Shirish Kinikar and others were present.
