Aurangabad, Jan 10:

The ground breaking ceremony of the women and neonatal hospital sanctioned for the city will be held within a month, informed health minister Rajesh Tope during a meeting of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday. Therefore, the construction of the hospital, which has been languishing for many years, is finally coming to an end.

The construction of a 200-bed women''s and neonatal hospital, which has been on paper for the last seven years, seems to be gaining momentum. On August 29, 2018, the district collector transferred the Dudh Dairy site for the construction of the hospital to the health department. Subsequently, a proposal of Rs 138 crore was submitted to the government on February 11, 2019 for administrative approval through the District civil surgeon. On September 20, the construction of the hospital and staff quarters received administrative approval and as per the letter received by the administration on November 11, a fund of Rs 111.89 crore was sanctioned. The process was neglected for the last year due to Covid-19. But as soon as the corona subsides, the construction of the hospital will start, said Tope.

4 storey building, 84 residences

A 4 storey building of the proposed hospital will have a dharamshala on the ground floor. There are also 84 residences for class 1 to class 4 employees.
