Aurangabad, Jan 27:

District collector Sunil Chavan urged voters to exercise their franchise strengthening democracy and creating new India. He was speaking in a programme on ‘National Voters' Day’ held Rukhmini auditorium of MGM.

Commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta, Lt Col Venkatesh P, Additional district Dr Anant Gavhane, district youth icon Naveli Deshmukh, deputy district election officer Dr Bharat Kadam were on the dais.

Sunil Chavan said that there had been changed in the election process after many research. “Earlier, voters used to cast votes through ballot paper now they exercise their franchise through the electronic voting machine,” he said.

Nikhil Gupta said that voters should use their democratic rights and come forward for nation-building.

Lt Col Venkatesh said casting vote is a right of every voter while all should exercise the right. Naveli Deshmukh said that India's Election Commission made different facilities for voters like the correction in name and change in the election booth.

The video message of Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora was also shown to all the participants. Deputy collector Anjali Dhanorkar and Komal Autade conducted the proceedings.
