Aurangabad, April 9:

Industrialist, Sunit Kothari, has demanded to the principal secretary of the industry department Dr Harshdeep Kamble to facilitate the works of Chikalthana Airport building and runway expansion. These basic facilities, if completed in the stipulated period can save the losses of the perishable fruits, vegetables and flowers and will enhance the trade in the region, he mentioned.

In the discussion with Dr Kamble, the representatives of the Aurangabad Tourism Development Foundation said that the lockdown is the better period to complete these pending works. Hence, they demanded to facilitate the building and runway expansion works. If the runway at the airport is expanded, it will facilitate the goods transport through the airways. If these facilities are made available it will help the farmers of the Marathwada and Khandesh regions to transports the fruits like banana, pomegranate, Chiku, sweet lime, orange and flowers, industrialist Kothari told Dr Kamble. He also demanded to facilitate the work of runway to expand it from 9300 feet to 12,000 feet.
