Finally, vaccine stock arrives, dist gets 19.5K Covishield, 12,000 Covaxin doses, Parbhani, Hingoli and Jalna dists will also get vaccines

Aurangabad, May 5: In a heartening development, Aurangabad has received 19,500 doses of Covishield and 12,000 doses of Covaxin. In the last few days, vaccination drive had lost pace in the district due to shortage of vaccines. However, now the vaccination can continue uninterrupted for the next few days, said deputy director health Dr Swapnil Lale.

The office of the deputy director (health) has received 44,000 doses of Covaxin for Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani and Hingoli districts that come under its jurisdiction. Parbhani and Jalna districts will be given 12,000 doses each while Hingoli district will get 8,000.

Jalna has received 18,400 doses of Covishield, Hingoli 25,600 and Parbhani 22,000. In the last few days, people are running from the pillar to post for vaccines. A huge rush is seen at the district civil hospital and Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad for vaccines. At least for some days, the vaccination will be smooth now that the new stock has arrived.
