Aurangabad, March 12:

The Corona patients are rapidly increasing in the villages in the outskirts of the city. Hence, the Zilla Parishad (ZP) CEO, Dr Mangesh Gondawale has directed the health machinery to identify the super-spreader, contacts and focus on the testing and vaccinations in the 200 villages where the Corona patients have been reported. He was addressing a meeting of the officers on Friday.

District health officer, Dr Sudhakar Shelke, Dr Ulhas Gandal, Dr Vijaykumar Wagh and others were present.

In all, 223 Corona patients were reported from the rural areas on Thursday. When asked about the increasing patients, Dr Gondawale said, the patients have increased as the reports of two to three days received at one time. Although, the number of patients is seen increased, the situation is different, he said.

The director of the laboratory at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), Dr G D Khedkar informed that the tests were delayed due to the technical problems at the Laboratory and the tests coming from Nashik and Parbhani districts. Presently, around 800 tests are conducted daily but after gaining the new automated machine, it will be possible to conduct around 2500 tests daily. The district administration is co-operating for it, he said.

Now, vaccination will also be started at 51 primary health centres and it vaccinations will be available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday here. Similarly, preparations have been made to start the 58 Covid Care Centres in the district as per requirement. Presently, 11 CCC having 962 beds are available but 80 per cent beds are vacant here, Dr Gondawale informed.
