Aurangabad, Jan 21:

The State Government issued orders on Thursday for creating 360 news posts to add 165 more beds in Government Cancer Hospital (GCH). This will expedite the expansion of the hospital.

The decision to permit 165 beds and create 360 posts for the hospital was taken in the Cabinet on January 6. The orders were issued today. With this, the number of beds will increase up to 265 in GCH. Its expansion process started in October. One more floor will be added to the existing building in the expansion.

The construction work would be completed in 15 months. Currently, it has 359 officers and employees, while 360 more will be added. Machineries like MRI, CT-scan will also be available at the hospital.

The figure of the new post is as follows; professors (ten), associate and assistant professors (13 each), senior resident doctors (28), nursing staff (195), technicians (36), administrative staff (15), class four employees (six) and 44 others.
