Aurangabad, May 18:

Home Guards who have worked with police personnel to maintain law and order in COVID situations face financial problems. The reason is that they do not get regular duty. Now, they have to search for a job like a labourer. Demand is being raised to absorb in service on minimum wages.

The service of each home guard personnel should be renewed every three years after their physical training. They are called on duty as and when required.

Home Guard personnel said that they could work in a better way if they are called on duty for at six months continuous in a year. Since they are not called on duty, they are facing financial problem. They demanded that they should be given duty in COVID situation for their survival.

“The district commandant of Home Guards should think sympathetically about our condition and give us continuous job,” they added.
