Aurangabad, Feb 26:

The Gram Panchayat (GP) office-bearers strongly opposed the inclusion of Waluj in the municipal limits in a meeting held in Bajajnagar on Friday. The meeting also decided to set up a legal battle in this regard through an all-party action committee.

The administration has taken steps to include Wadgaon-Bajajnagar, Teesgaon, Golwadi, Ranjangaon, Pandharpur, Valadgaon, Patoda, Waluj and Jogeshwari GPs in the municipal area. A meeting was held in Bajajnagar by the office bearers of the GPs in the area. In the meeting, Sarpanch and office-bearers demanded that GPs should not be included in the municipal limits. Satara, Deolai, Chikalthan and Padegaon have been included in the corporation. However, the citizens of this area are constantly struggling to get various civic amenities. The public representatives have expressed fear that the situation will be similar in the villages.

Will raise a fight

In this meeting, it was decided to fight in a legal battle by setting up an all-party action committee. In order to oppose the municipal corporation, a resolution will be approved in all the GPs in the area and submitted to the administration. A decision has also been taken to form a public movement by uniting entrepreneurs, builders and citizens.
