Malfunctioning of signal in Lasur delays Tapovan Express
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Due to a malfunction in the railway signalling system, the Mumbai-Nanded Tapovan Express got stuck at Lasur station for about 45 minutes around 12.30 pm on Saturday. As a result, passengers had to face inconvenience in the sultry weather.
The express train was arriving at Lasur railway station around 12.32 pm when the signalling system malfunctioned. As a result, the train had to be stopped some distance away from the Lasur station. The railway administration promptly took note of the situation and deployed a technical team for repairs. After the signalling system was fixed, the train was able to proceed, but it took nearly 45 minutes. Passengers had to remain inside the train for more than half an hour during peak afternoon time. The railway authorities confirmed that the train was delayed by half an hour due to the signalling issue, but no other train schedules were affected.
Track joints were replaced
After the signalling system malfunction, it became impossible to change the track joints to bring the train to the platform. In such circumstances, the railway administration, with the help of its staff, manually replaced the track joints, said Santosh Kumar Somani, President of the Railway Pravasi Sena.
