Aurangabad, April 12:

Energy Minister Nitin Raut will unveil a portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and a songs collections ‘Geet Bhimayan’ online in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) on April 14 as part of the birth anniversary celebration of Dr Ambedkar.

The portrait of Dr Ambedkar will be installed near the entrance of the administrative building. Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole will preside over the ceremony.

ProVC Dr Shyam Shirsath, management council members Dr Rajul Mhaske and Rajesh Karpe and others will also grace the event.

Energy minister Nitin Raut will also speak after releasing

Geet Bhimayan’, the collection of songs in audio form, written by Wamandada Kardak. Sanjay Mohad has given music for the songs.

Prominent singers like Kavita Krishnamurti, A Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar and others have sung the songs. The university has started a new initiative this year.

Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi and director of the Students Development Department Dr Mustajeeb Khan appealed to all to attend the programmes.

Prof Dilip Bade, the former dean of the university sketched the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar.
