Aurangabad, Nov 24:

Administrator of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Astik Kumar Pandey on Tuesday said that shops would be sealed for 15 days if goods are sold to the customers who were not wearing a mask.

Astik Kumar Pandey said that people should not worry as lockdown would not be implemented until the situation goes out of control. “However, they will have to follow COVID measures 100 per cent. Heavy rush is seen at marriage function halls.

There is a permission of 50 persons gathering for a marriage function. But, around 500 to 1000 people are seen in marriage halls. Ultimatum was given to all the function hall owners. An action would be taken against them if they don’t follow measures,” he asserted.

The AMC administrator said that a separate squad would be set up to take action against those who are found not wearing a mask in the market which is witnessing huge crowd.

He said that traders should know their responsibility and don’t allow entry of customer in the shops if he/she does not wear a mask; unfortunately, this is not happening. Pandey feels that lockdown cannot be an alternative for the safety of people from COVID 19.

“Up to 200 patients strength, the situation is considered much out of control. Citizens should wear a mask when they step out of home,” he advised people.
