Aurangabad, May 19:

The crime branch police on Wednesday busted yet

another racket of black marketing of the Remdesivir injections. The police arrested

two accused and seized four Remdesivir injections, car, two mobile phones and

Rs 31,500 cash from them.

The deceased have been identified as Nitin Avinash

Jadhav (28, Kohinoor Colony) and Gautam Devidas Angrak (Ragadiya Vihar). Jadhav’s

wife Aarti Dhole is a contractual nurse at the Government Medical College and

Hospital (GMCH).

The crime branch police received an information that

accused Angarak is selling the Remdesivir injection at Rs 25,000 per unit. Under

the guidance of ACP Ravindra Salokhe, PI Avinash Aghav, the police team

including API Manoj Shinde, drug inspector Jeevan Jadhav, constable Santosh

Sonawane, Chandrakant Gawali, Bhagwan Shilote, Ritesh Jadhav, Vishal Patil,

Anand Waluj, Dnyaneshwar Pawar and others laid a trap and sent a dummy customer

to Angarak. He told the customer that the injection can be obtained for Rs

25,000 and called him to Railway Station area. In the evening Angrak and Jadhav

came in a car on Hotel Vits to Railway Station Road. The police caught them

red-handed while giving injection to the customer. The police seized four Remdesivir

injections, car worth Rs 8 lakh, two mobile handsets and Rs 31,500 cash. A case

has been registered at the Vedantnagar police station on the complainant lodged

by drug inspector Jeevan Jadhav.

Accused Jadhav’s wife is a nurse in Covid ward at

the GMCH. During interrogation, Angarak told the police that the injections

were brought by Jadhav from his wife. The police has also included Aarti Jadhav

Dhole as accused in this case and she is likely to be arrested soon. The

sources said that Angarak has sold injections at Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Pune,

Nashik and other cities.
