In the backdrop of the missing of the Remdesivir injections at the Meltron Covid Hospital in Chikalthana MIDC area, the District administration has changed the procedure of issuing and usage of the injections. Taking cognizance of the news appeared in the Lokmat Times, directives have been issued by the administration regarding the Remdesivir injection. Accordingly, only nurses will get the stock of the Remdesivir injections and the class four employees will not get the stock.

Lokmat Times had published a news regarding missing of the injections from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The administration set up an inquiry committee and the police arrested the black marketers of the injections including an employee from the District Civil Hospital. Later, some more incidents of black marketing of injections came to the fore. District collector has taken cognizance and directives regarding the use and issue of the Remdesivir injections have been issued to the District Civil Surgeon Dr Sundar Kulkarni. Accordingly, injections should be administered to the patients to whom the injections have been issued. If the patient dies or shifted to other places, the injections issued in his name should not be used directly for other patients. The nurses should personally present for gaining the stock of the injections from the main stores. The class four employees will not be given the injection stock. The injections will be issued between 10.30 am to 1 pm and between 1 pm and 6 pm during emergency. There will be alternate facility for providing six injections for serious patients between 6 pm and next day till 10 am. Additional stock for one day will be given on Saturday and holidays on demand. New stock will not be issued if the old vial is not replaced.
