Overwhelming response to the free retina screening camp

The free retina screening camp organized by the Lions Eye Hospital run by the Lions Club of Aurangabad Chikalthana on Republic Day received a good response from the citizens. Attendees were guided by expert doctors on retinal diseases and diabetes. A new retina department was also inaugurated in the hospital on the occasion of Republic Day.

Metalman Auto CEO Shrikant Mundada who was present as the chief guest lauded the charitable work of Lions eye hospital. Mundada said, "Lions eye hospital is one of the best hospitals in Aurangabad for providing affordable services to the patients. The hospital has been providing various state-of-the-art facilities for over 14 years. Along with facilities like the diabetes department, medicine, spectacles, pathology, now the retina department has also been started here. Various problems related to retina will be treated here," he said. Free retinal check-ups, diabetes check-ups, OCT, medication, spectacles and blood tests were provided at very low rates at the camp. Expert doctors examined the patients. In all 125 patients benefited from this camp. Lions Club of Aurangabad Chikalthana president Sanjeev Gupta, secretary Vinod Chaudhary, treasurer Rajiv Shukla, Project chairman Rajesh Jadhav, Co-chairman Dr Manohar Agarwal, CEO Dr Pritesh Sonar and members of Lions Club were present on the occasion.

Six-year-old girl get vision

The vision of a six-year-old blind girl from Selu was restored by the specialist doctors at Lions eye hospital. From birth, the girl could see light but had no vision. After several checkups, the girl was diagnosed with a cataract in both eyes. But the surgery would have cost around Rs 1.5 lakh. The girl's parents were in dire financial straits and could not afford to spend that much. The girl underwent free surgery and treatment at Lions eye hospital. Dr Manasi Banga, Dr Mayuri Pore, Dipanshu Paliwal and their team successfully operated on the girl and restored her sight.
