Aurangabad, March 11:

The MP, Syed Imtiaz Jaleel, has lamented the administration for implementing partial lockdown in the district from tonight. He underlined the decision as one-sided and said that the officers should have consulted with public representatives instead of taking the whimsical decision independently. There are some public representatives who represent 20 lakh people, and they also understand the public opinion, he commented.

The MP said, " The officers in Aurangabad seems to very happy in implementing the lockdown. They are in a hurry to take the decision. The Coronavirus is indeed spreading all over the country and the world. I do not understand the logic in deciding what to keep close and what not to during the lockdown. It seems that the four IAS and IPS officers had a meeting with Coronavirus? Is the virus going to be active only on Saturdays and Sundays and remain on leave from Mondays to Fridays every week, he questioned?

" The future of the city is being decided by these officers. There are public representatives like MP, MLAs, and they are also responsible. When would they be consulted or taken into confidence," he said.

The MP also expressed his displeasure over restriction on marriage ceremonies and the closure of marriage function halls. Adding to the woes, the administration is also recommending to opt for registered marriages, he stressed.

Jaleel said, " The companies are allowed to function, and the management is told to follow the Covid-19 guidelines. The same pattern should be followed in the functioning of marriages in the halls. Moreover, a policeman can be deployed to ensure the guidelines are being followed or not?"

The MP appealed to the public to contact him if they need any of his help. We would extend all help to them, he said.
