Aurangabad, March 5:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) senate in a meeting has decided to conduct the Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) second paper online. The decision to conduct the examination at the examination centres has been canceled while the candidates can give the examination from anywhere now.

The senate meeting presided over by vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole was held on Friday. Initially, Sunil Magare, Vijay Subukade, Dr Bharat Khairnar, Shaikh Juhur, Sambhaji Bhosale, Ramesh Bhutekar, Feroz Pathan, Sunil Nikam, Sanjay Kalbande, Dr Rajesh Karpee, Dr Laxmikant Shinde and others opposed the decision to conduct the examination of the PET second paper on the examination centres due to the increase Corona crisis.

They took the stand that they will not allow the meeting proceedings to be run smoothly unless the decision is withdrawn. The chaos over the issue continued till around one and a half hours. Finally, the vice-chancellor, Dr Yeole, announced that the PET second paper, like the first paper will be conducted online.

Speaking on occasion, Dr Yeole said, several regularities were observed during the first paper of PET. Several students and parents had lodged several complaints about it. Hence, a decision was taken to conduct the examination at the examination centres to maintain the examination quality. Even the High Court was told that all the precautions will be taken and the Corona guidelines will be followed, he said.
