Aurangabad, Feb 1:

It appears that Novel coronavirus vaccination campaign is getting a poor response from health employees in the city.

It may be noted that COVID vaccination drive was launched across the country from January 16. Doctors and health employees are being administered the vaccine as per the Government’s decisions.

Before the drive, there were long queues of health employees for the registration with Aurangabad Municipal Corporation for the vaccine.

A total of 24,000 employees and officers registered for the vaccine so far while 5,400 came the vaccination. Despite making calls, the employees are not ready for the vaccination.

There was a good response from doctors for the vaccination in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) while not many employees appeared interested.

The medical employee is being encouraged to come for the vaccination. Some of the vaccinated employees were admitted to the hospital immediately after they complained of a mild reaction. The hospital charged them bills between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.

Earlier, the AMC received 20,000 Covidshields while 15,000 more vaccines were supplied. The civic body has stock vaccines for targeted beneficiaries.
