Aurangabad, March 2:

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has cut off the power supply to nearly 1,500 customers in the Waluj area. These customers have arrears of Rs 8.50 crore. However, Rs 2 crore has been recovered.

MSEDCL has about 23,000 domestic and commercial customers in 19 villages like Waluj, Ranjangaon, Jogeshwari, Ramrai, Narayanpur, Shivrai coming under the Waluj substation. Many did not pay their electricity bills due to rumours that the government would waive the electricity bills during the lockdown period.
