Aurangabad, May 2:

Children along with the adults are dying due to Covid now. A nine months malnutrition girl from Aref Colony died at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Saturday while undergoing treatment. Moreover, three children died due to Covid in the past five days.

This nine months old girl was admitted in the GMCH on April 28 where she died on May 2 at 3.30 am. Her condition deteriorated while undergoing treatment. She was malnutrition and suffered Covid and had other symptoms, the administration said.

Similarly, a six years old girl died on April 26 and one month old boy on April 27. In all, three children died in just five days while eight children died in a month.

Around 90 percent children suffering from Covid show mild symptoms and hence there is less need to admit them in the hospitals. However, if anyone is infected in the family, and the children come in their contact, they can have some medium symptoms. Hence, the tests of the children should be conducted and the parents should keep a strict watch on the situation, the experts opined.
