Aurangabad, April 30:

A speeding car dragged a motorcyclist couple for a distance of around 50 feet near Siddharth Chowk, between Hudco Corner to TV Centre Road on Thursday night. The woman, Sunita Prakash Shelke (45, Hudco, N-13) died in the accident while her husband Prakash Kautikrao Shelke (50) and the car driver Amol Madhukar Kirtikar (20, Shivshankar Colony) were injured.

The Shelke couple was going on their motorcycle (MH 20 EV 8140) from Hudco Corner towards Rashtrawadi Bhavan. When they took a turn near Siddharth Chowk, suddenly a speeding car (MH 20 DJ 4044) dashed their motorcycle. The car dragged the couple along the motorcycle for a distance of around 50 feet. The Shelke couple was severely injured. The City Chowk and Cidco Police stations officers and employee rushed to the spot and took the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Sunita died at GMCH on Friday morning while undergoing treatment. The condition of her husband is stable. A case of accidental death has been registered at the City Chowk police station.
