Beed By-pass from the beginning of the New Year. An old man going on a

motorcycle with his engineer son on Beed By-pass Road was crushed by a speeding

truck on Monday at around 2.20 pm.

The deceased has been identified as Ashruba Bhimrao Raut

(65, Pokhri Mande, Beed). His son Vishnu Raut (40, Satara area) sustained minor

injuries.

Ashruba had come to the city to

attend a marriage ceremony at the Ramchandra hall on Monday afternoon. His son

stays at Satara area and after the marriage ceremony he went to meet his son.

After staying there for an hour, he was going with his son on motorcycle to the

marriage venue to return to his village with the other people. After crossing

the Godawari Tee- point, a speeding truck (MH 20 CT 2666) dashed their motorcycle. Ashruba fell down and

came under the left tyre of the truck. The nearby residents stopped the truck

driver who was planning to run away from the scene. Meanwhile PI Surendra

Malale, traffic branch PI Mukund Deshmukh and others rushed to the spot and
