Delhi Capitals' spinner Kuldeep Yadav brought a touch of football flair to the cricket field during his side's IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. After dismissing RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the 14th over of the chase, Kuldeep celebrated with a move inspired by football star Lionel Messi.
The wicket was crucial as Jaiswal, who was in fine form with 51 runs off 37 balls, attempted to go big once again against Kuldeep’s tossed-up delivery. However, he failed to middle the ball and Mitchell Starc took an easy catch at long-on.

Following the dismissal, Kuldeep mimicked Messi's famous 'Iron Man' celebration. Lifting his feet and mimicking the iconic move made popular by the football legend, Kuldeep became an instant hit with fans both at the ground and on social media.
The match itself was a thrilling contest that saw DC emerge victorious in a Super Over. Late cameos by captain Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs helped DC post a challenging 188/5, which was later matched by RR's 188/4 in the chase. The game went into the Super Over after Mitchell Starc defended nine runs in the final over. DC successfully chased down 12 runs in the Super Over to claim the win.
