Bad light has stopped play at Southampton forcing, umpires to call early tea. The lights have dramatically faded in the last 15 minutes and the umpires took a fair call.  Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have stitched a 32-run partnership after the fall of Pujara's wicket. India head into the break with 120 runs on the board for the loss of 3 wickets.  India have done pretty well to recover well after a measured a start by the openers.

Pujara started off with 35 dots, hit two consecutive boundaries, played out another 16 dots, and fell to Boult's inswinger. The lights have dramatically faded in the last 15 minutes so the upcoming session holds key for both teams. Rohit Sharma (34) and Shubman Gill (28) got off to a decent start but were dismissed just before lunch as India went into the break at 69/2 after New Zealand invited them to bat first in Southampton in overcast conditions.
