Prithvi Shaw, the talented India batter has provided a clarification on photos that were posted on his Instagram stories recently, on Valentine's Day.

Given that today is Valentine’s Day, a couple of photos were posted on Prithvi Shaw’s Instagram story which saw him in a lovely pose with actress Nidhi Tapadia and one of the photos had the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day, Wifey”, with Tapadia tagged in it as well.

This came as a shock to his fans and followers as despite being active on social media, Prithvi Shaw had never posted photos with a girl like this nor there was any news of his link-up with any girl. Therefore, this was huge news for everyone.

Meanwhile, the posts were deleted quickly, but fans screenshotted the stories and made them go viral, which caused quite an uproar on social media, as Shaw had just managed to make his comeback into the Indian team after 18 months.

Now, Shaw took to his Instagram and claimed that the photos were edited by someone else and he didn’t post anything on his account. He urged his fans to ignore what is being spread on social media.

He posted a story with the message: "Someone editing my pics and showing stuffs that I haven’t put on my story or on my page. So please ignore all the tags and msges thx."

Earlier, Prithvi Shaw generated plenty of buzz on social media for repeatedly being denied an opportunity in the Indian team. Though he made it to India's squad for the T20Is against New Zealand, the opening batter didn't get to feature in any of the three matches.

Prithvi Shaw will next play for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2023. He will look to take some added responsibility and produce some match-winning performances in the absence of injured regular skipper Rishabh Pant.
