A group of young players, including Rituraj Gaikwad and Prithvi Shaw, among others, are being closely watched during the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League. Gaikwad, who plays as an opener for the Chennai Super Kings, has been displaying impressive performances, while Shaw, who opens for the Delhi Capitals, is yet to showcase his best form with the bat.

In the ongoing season, Delhi Capitals have played six matches but have managed to win only one match. What's interesting is that Prithvi Shaw's performance has been poor this season as well. He has scored only 47 runs in a total of six matches.

Shaw has not yet completed a half-century, despite scoring runs in six matches. Prithvi, who was disappointed for not being selected for the Indian team, is now struggling with his form. He expressed his displeasure on social media regarding not being given an opportunity to play in the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka.

Earlier this year, Prithvi was named in the squad for the Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka. However, despite being a part of the team, he was not selected in the playing XI by captain Hardik Pandya for any of the matches.

During IPL 2023, Prithvi Shaw has been unable to score more than 20 runs in any match. His highest score this season is only 15 runs, which he achieved while playing at home against Mumbai Indians.

Prithvi's batting performance has come under scrutiny, as he has managed to score only 47 runs in six matches. His poor form is not only affecting the team but also putting pressure on his teammate, David Warner. Furthermore, Captain Warner is being criticized for his sluggish innings.

Prithvi Shaw played his first match of the season against Lucknow Supergiants and scored 12 runs. In the next match against Gujarat Titans, he scored 7 runs.

After scoring 12 and 7 runs in his first two matches of the season, Prithvi Shaw got out without scoring any runs in the third match against Rajasthan Royals. In the following match against Mumbai Indians, he scored 15 runs, and in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders played yesterday, he got out after scoring only 13 runs.

If Prithvi Shaw's performance remains the same, it will be challenging for him to secure a place in the team. Despite being out of the Indian team for an extended period, he was recently included in the squad for the series against New Zealand. However, he did not get a chance to play in any of the matches.
