Actor Rhea Chakraborty has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe. Chakraborty's associate Samuel Miranda reached the DRDO guest house in Mumbai where the CBI team investigating the death case is staying. The CBI began its probe after a Supreme Court order last week. Its investigation is based on a First Information Report or FIR filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's family in Bihar, which names Rhea Chakraborty, her parents and brother Showik among others.
Showik Chakraborty was questioned by the CBI in Mumbai for 14 hours yesterday, until midnight. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has opened a new line of inquiry into drugs-related allegations based on WhatsApp chats retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty's phone, which had been seized for investigations. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra home on June 14. Mumbai Police called it a death by suicide and started investigating whether it was connected to alleged nepotism, cliques and toxic rivalries in the film fraternity.
