Deepika Padukone who is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Chhapaak will be seen sharing screen space with Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next according to reports. The reports emerge after Deepika was spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s office. According to an article, in a news portal, Deepika has been offered a role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film revolves around the life of Gangubai which will be portrayed by Alia. Deepika has been approached to play a small role in a character that is very important to the story. However, things are yet to be finalized between the makers and the actor. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi stars Alia Bhatt and Vijay Raaz. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie is reportedly based on the Hussain Zaidi's book Queens of Mumbai. It traces the story of a sex worker in Kamathipura who later becomes a hit-woman and a drug peddler. On the work front, Deepika will be next seen in Chhapaak which is her first home production. The film is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The film is directed by Meghna Gulzar and is slated to release on January 10.
