NCP leader and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule on Thursday requested the Maharashtra government to let the restaurants reopen in the state, saying that the restaurant owners are facing financial difficulties due to COVID-19 lockdown.

"The Coronavirus crisis has put the restaurant business in the state in trouble. Although parcels are currently allowed, this is not enough to revive the industry. In addition, many restaurant operators are facing major financial difficulties," Sule tweeted in Marathi.

NCP leader said that necessary guidelines for social distancing should also be issued to restaurant operators.

"Given the inconvenience caused to these businesses, restaurants need to be started, you should sympathetically consider allowing them to do business," she added.
