The Uddhav Thackeray government plans to buy 10,000 vials of Remedisvir. Minister of Health Rajesh Tope in a tweet said, "Remdesivir is the first drug to show improvement in Covid-19 patients in formal clinical trials. The state government will buy 10,000 vials of Remedisvir".

This medicine is very expensive and arrangements have been made to give in order to treat the ones who cannoy afford such treatment, said Rajesh Tope. 

India's government said on Tuesday it has approved Gilead Sciences Inc's antiviral drug remdesivir for emergency use in treating Covid-19 patients.
