The sale and consumption of alcohol will be prohibited on Shiv Jayanti 2025 across Maharashtra, including in Mumbai. On Wednesday, February 19, the country will celebrate the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great Maratha King. 

The Maharashtra government has declared February 19, 2025, a dry day to honour the legacy of the Maratha Warrior. The officials enforce liquor sales annually to prevent any untoward incidents and violations. As per the order, bars, liquor shops, and restaurants are required to cease alcohol sales for the day.
