Former Lok Sabha Speaker and former chief minister of Maharashtra Manohar Joshi's wife Anagha Joshi died at her residence in Mumbai, a close family aide said on Monday. She was 75. She died late Sunday night following a prolonged illness for which she was undergoing treatment at her residence. Shiv Sena leaders Subash Desai, Sanjay Raut, and Milind Narvekar visited the residence of party leader Joshi in Dadar to pay condolences.

For the unversed, Manohar Joshi, was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995–1999. He was Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2002-2004. He is one of the prominent leaders of the Shiv Sena political party. He is also second indian to be elected to all the four legislatures. He was the first non-Congress Chief Minister of Maharashtra when the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition came to power.
