Ganpati festival: 10 day quarantine compulsory for people travelling to Konkan before Aug 12

People who will be going to Konkan, Maharashtra for Ganesh festival will have to home quarantine for 10 days. This rule will be applicable for those going to Konkan before 12th August. People going to the region after August 12 will have to take swab test mandatory.

The state government has given instructions in this regard. Online ticket booking for Ganeshotsav in Konkan will be possible from today evening. Transport Minister Anil Parab said that MSRTC has readied atleast 3,000 vehicles for devotees travelling to the Konkan region.

Those travelling to Konkan by private vehicles will have to get e-pass. People travelling by ST buses will not require an e-pass, said minister of State for Home Affairs Satej Patil.

If 22 people do group booking of the ST bus, the vehicle will directly drop the passengers to their village. Besides, the passengers will have to carry their own meal, said Satej Patil.

Instructions have been issued by the state government to follow the rules of social distancing while travelling. That is why only 22 people can travel in one ST bus. The rules of social distancing also applies to private buses ferrying passengers to Konkan region.
