Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nana F. Patole resigned from his post last week. He submitted his resignation to Deputy Speaker Narhari S. Zhirwal, after a tenure of nearly 14 months in the august post.

After the appointment of Nana Patole as the state president of the Congress, now all eyes are on who will be the state assembly president. It is being said that since the post of Assembly Speaker is in the hands of the Congress, the face of the Congress will be seen on that seat once again. After Patole's resignation it is being said that Tribal Development Minister K. C. Padvi will be appointed as Assembly Speaker.

KC Padvi is a senior Congress leader and has a good working experience in the Assembly. Therefore, it is being speculated that KC Padvi's name may be suggested by the Congress. When KC Padvi was asked about this, he said that such discussions take place in politics.

But before this discussion, my name was also being discussed for the post of State President of the Congress. It is important that we keep working for the party without stopping. I am loyal to the Congress party and it is my job to fulfill the responsibility given by the party", said KC Padvi. He was speaking at an event in Nandurbar.
