In the last 48 hours, 278 police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19.

"The total number of positive cases in Maharashtra Police is now 1,666 including 1,177 active cases, 473 recovered and 16 deaths," said Maharashtra Police.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state by the deadly contagion.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are a total of 41,642 number of coronavirus cases in the state.
