A Bandra Court on Tuesday granted bail to accused Vinay Dubey on a personal bond of Rs 15,000. He was arrested in connection with the gathering of the migrant workers at Bandra station demanding to go back to their natives on 14th April.

Vinay Dubey, who is from UP and runs an NGO, is a resident of Navi Mumbai, was arrested for uploading a video in which he demanded that the Maharashtra government make travel arrangements for migrants, who are stranded due to the coronavirus-enforced lockdown and want to go back to their native places.

In his video he said, "I request that after the lockdown gets over on April 14, the state government arrange trains to UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal. They can be quarantined once they get there... They are desperate here, they will die of hunger, if not from coronavirus...We will wait till 14th or 15th, if government does not do anything, I, Vinay Dubey, will start the journey with those migrants on foot."
