The Maharashtra government has released incorrect statistics of corona patients in Pune city. "We will appeal to the court against this," said Mayor Murlidhar Mohol. The mayor alleged that this is a form of tarnishing the image of the municipality, alternatively the city. Before the Corona review meeting to be held in the Council Hall in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Mayor Mohol made this serious allegation against the state government.

MLA Siddharth Shirole was with him at this time. In the work of curbing spread of covid, the city of Pune did an ideal job to make the country proud. The government did not take notice. On  contrary, the court said that there are 1 lakh patients in Pune city. This statistic is for the district. The government has not clarified that it is not only for Pune city. That is why the court asked for a strict lockdown, claimed Mohol.

We want the court to take cognizance of this, but we demand that the state government should reveal the actual covid cases numbers immediately. Otherwise we will oppose any strict restrictions imposed on the dictrict due to incorrect statistics released by the state authorities,” Mohol said.
