Amid rising political tension in Maharashtra, Republican Party of India (RPI) President and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has reacted to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut meeting with former Maharashtra chief minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

Ramdas Athawale said that Shiv Sena should join hands with the BJP as it would be more beneficial for Sena, if Sena doesn't wihes to join BJP then NCP should.

Ramdas Athawale said, 'The alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP broke down on the issue of Chief Minister's post. Shiv Sena should form a government in 50-50 partnership with BJP.

'Uddhav Thackeray has been the Chief Minister for almost a year. He should be the Chief Minister for another year. Devendra Fadnavis will remain the Chief Minister for the next three years, 'Athavale suggested. 'Shiv Sena will benefit the most when it comes with BJP. The party will also get one or two ministerial posts at the Centre. Sharad Pawar should also come with NDA for the betterment of farmers, he added.

However, he also said that the coming together of Shiv Sena and BJP will not affect the investigation of Sushant's death or the investigation of drugs.

The Union Minister further said, "These people (MVA government) are saying that the government will run for 5 years, we think this government has been formed for one and a half years only.
