In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old boy went on a rampage wielding a sword on the streets of Bhandup West on Saturday afternoon, damaging vehicles including a BEST bus, after being allegedly called a "thief" by his maternal uncle.

According to the police, the incident took place around 3 PM on Tank Road in Bhandup West. The minor, enraged by the accusation, was seen walking around with a sword, hurling abuses and issuing threats to pedestrians. Witnesses, alarmed by the sight of the armed teenager, chose to maintain distance, which seemingly further emboldened the boy.

The minor did not stop at threatening people. He smashed the windows of several parked rickshaws and other vehicles along the roadside with the sword. The situation escalated when he intercepted a passenger-laden BEST bus, abused the driver, shattered the front windshield, and climbed into the bus to intimidate passengers.

Several onlookers captured the entire episode on their mobile phones and alerted the police. Acting swiftly, Bhandup police rushed to the spot and managed to detain the boy along with the sword. Upon questioning at the police station, it was revealed that the accused is a 16-year-old juvenile in conflict with law. He reportedly told the police, “My uncle called me a thief, and I lost my temper.”

Bhandup police have registered a case against the minor, and he has been sent to Dongri Juvenile Remand Home. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7), Vijaykant Sagar, confirmed the action.
