A major fire erupted at the JMS Business Centre in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari West area on Thursday, officials confirmed. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) classified the incident as a Level-II fire. Multiple fire engines were dispatched to the site, and firefighting efforts are ongoing. A massive fire blazed through the commercial building, with thick smoke billowing from the premises as emergency teams worked to bring the situation under control. A fire broke out at J.N.S. Business Center, spreading from the 7th to 11th floors. Some people suffered suffocation and were hospitalized, while rescue operations continue for those trapped
According to reports, several people were seen stranded on the top floor of the building, prompting immediate rescue efforts by firefighters. Operations are currently underway to safely evacuate those trapped. So far, no injuries have been reported. Authorities continue to monitor the situation, and more details are awaited.
Meanwhile, a fire broke out at a Mahakali Nagar chawl in Worli, central Mumbai, on Sunday night, October 19. The incident occurred on Narayan Hardikar Road at approximately 8:45 pm. “There are no reports of any injuries,” confirmed a Mumbai Fire Brigade official.
Upon receiving the alert, four fire engines and water tankers were immediately dispatched to the site. Firefighters brought the blaze under control within an hour of arriving. According to officials, the person who reported the fire attributed it to an electrical short circuit. The fire reportedly affected seven to eight rooms of the single-storey building. It was fully extinguished by around 10:35 pm, with all residents safely evacuated and no injuries reported.
