A shocking incident of molestation involving a woman serving in the Australian Navy has come to light. The Yellow Gate Police Station arrested the accused driver, Anil Kamble (32), and presented him before the Court on Sunday. The court sent him to police custody for a day.

According to the complaint, the victim is employed on a New Zealand-based ship docked at BPT Port. On March 22, she was invited to a food festival organized by the Indian Navy. During the event, she consumed beer. Around 9:30 PM, she, along with two colleagues, visited Effingut Restaurant in Colaba. Later, at 11:30 PM, they reached Green Gate at BPT, where a vehicle was arranged to drop them back to their ship.

As per the complaint, while the woman was about to board the vehicle, the driver first shook hands with her but then allegedly tried to touch her inappropriately. She immediately confronted him and informed the Indian Navy’s liaison officer. Subsequently, she lodged a complaint at Yellow Gate Police Station, following which the police arrested the accused.
