Mumbai University Revises Summer Exam Schedule 2026 After MHT CET Clash

The University of Mumbai has updated its Summer Examination 2026 timetable after several dates overlapped with the MHT CET 2026. To avoid inconvenience for students appearing in both examinations, the university modified the schedule for six subjects while retaining the previously announced exam timings. This decision aims to maintain consistency in daily exam routines while resolving date conflicts. Earlier, the institution had already made adjustments to the timetable due to Gram Panchayat elections. The latest revision ensures smoother coordination and reduces stress for candidates preparing for multiple crucial examinations.

Revised Exam Dates for Key Subjects

According to the updated timetable released by the University of Mumbai, several subject exams have been rescheduled. The revised dates are as follows:

  • 2225161-VI (NEP-2020): May 2

  • 4001615: May 6

  • 4E00144, 4E00734: May 11

  • 2220161-VI (NEP-2020): May 11

  • 1P00138, 1P00148: May 14

  • 2220161-V (NEP-2020): May 15

The university has directed all affiliated colleges, department heads, principals, and faculty members to strictly follow the revised schedule for the remaining examinations without any deviation.

Changes Made to Prevent Exam Clashes

The University of Mumbai clarified that the revisions were necessary to prevent any overlap with the MHT CET 2026, a key entrance test for professional courses in Maharashtra. By aligning the schedules, the university aims to ensure that students are not forced to choose between important academic and entrance examinations. Authorities emphasized that minimizing such clashes is essential for maintaining fairness and providing equal opportunities to all candidates. The move is expected to benefit a large number of students appearing for both exams, allowing them to focus better on their preparation without unnecessary logistical challenges or confusion.

UG Admissions 2026 Pre-Registration Begins

In a separate update, the University of Mumbai has started the undergraduate admission pre-registration process for the 2026 academic year through its official portal. Eligible candidates can complete their applications until August 25. The admission procedure will be carried out in two phases—one before the announcement of Class 12 results and the other after the results are declared. This structured approach is designed to streamline the admission process and manage the large volume of applicants efficiently. Students are advised to complete their registrations within the stipulated timeline to avoid last-minute issues.
