Nagpur, April 28

The mercury has started rising in city. On Wednesday, the day temperature rose by 1.4 degrees to 43.1 degree Celsius. With this, the maximum temperature reached one degree above normal. With just two days left in April, it looks unlikely that the temperature will go down. Apart from Nagpur, mercury has started rising in other districts of Vidarbha.

According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of sunlight has started to increase due to the dry weather. At around 8.30 am, the humidity was 29 per cent, which came down to 20 per cent in the evening. The sky was also clear and hence the heat started increasing. The sky is expected to remain clear for a week.

The mercury has crossed 40 degrees across all Vidarbha district. The maximum temperature has touched 44.4 degree Celsius in Brahmapuri. The maximum temperature was 43.6 degree Celsius in Chandrapur, 43.4 degree Celsius in Wardha and Akola. The night temperature in Nagpur also increased by 0.6 degree to 23.4 degree Celsius.
